Glass insulator pot

An extract from From the Bluebell Railway’s latest e-newsletter (6th August 2017) – 1935 Experimental Insulator Pot

The Museum (at the Bluebell Railway) has recently put on display an experimental glass insulator pot believed to come from the opening of the Seaford branch in 1935.

If anyone knows more about these pots can they please let Tony Hillman at the Bluebell Railway know as it would be interesting to know how long they lasted, why they were tried, were they considered successful and if they were replaced early or had a normal life or any other relevant information.
