SEG 50: 50 years of The Southern Electric Group
The Southern Electric Group celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020 and will be re-launching preserved 4Cor coach S11187S into traffic at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday 30th May.
Do you have friends or family who might remember travelling in these units? Or those who maybe interested in the opportunity to travel in a genuine 1930’s main line carriage which is part of the only pre-war main-line electric passenger unit in preservation.
The Southern Electric Group, through its associated companies Southern Electric Heritage and SEG (Preservation) Ltd., in conjunction with the Brian Juniper Trust, is able to offer non-members the opportunity to join us on the occasion of our 50th AGM which will include a return ride between Shepherdswell and Eythorne on The East Kent Light Railway using S11187S powered by EKLR traction as available.
Simply turn up on the day and make yourself known to any member of the management committee. In exchange for £25.00 non-members will receive a year’s membership of the Southern Electric Group which includes six issues of our magazine “Live Rail” plus a return trip on the re-launch run of 4Cor coach S11187S.
The trip will start from Shepherdswell Station on the East Kent Light Railway, which adjoins the Southeastern main line station and which will be open for viewing and refreshments from 11.30 with the special train departing at around 15:00 and returning approximately an hour later.
