December 2007 Timetable Changes |
![]() |
The last bi-annual timetable change on December 9th introduced a number of refinements. In particular for South West Trains a change to the service pattern for stations between Southampton and Weymouth and withdrawal of Reading - Brighton and Paignton - Brighton services. This in turn gave Southern the opportunity to introduce a Brighton - Southampton direct service plus re-cast its West-Coastway services. Some of the changes are illustrated on these two pages with photographs and captions by Colin Scott Morton. Weymouth now enjoys two trains an hour to and from London, thanks to extension of former Poole services. On Monday 10th December, unit 444 012 departs from Weymouth with one of the new services, the 10:20 to Waterloo. |
