2012 Programme


3rd January

Mike Russell presents "Russian trams and tramways: a general overview" .

7th February

Steve Bigley will give a presentation on the Railways of the East Midlands.

6th March

John Laker and Keith Spillett bring more HD digital tramway film - of a 2010 Balkan trip (Sarajevo , Osijek, Zagreb and Belgrade). Some museum cars are featured .

3rd April

Ralph Hanley and Bob Petch take us back to the 1960s with Southern and Somerset and Dorset steam.

1st May

Martyn Davies will show slides of Blackpool trams.

5th June

Members' slides evening.

4th September

Martin Petch takes us back to western Germany in the 1980s.

2nd October

Martyn Davies returns to share a further railway miscellany. Be prepared to guess dates or locations!

6th November

AGM, followed by members' slides.

4th December

Alistair Jeffery takes us on a journey from John o'Groats to Land's End (part 2).

The South Hampshire Branch, in conjunction with the Southern area of the LRTA, hold their joint meetings at The Eastleigh Railway Institute in Romsey Road and start at 19:30. The venue is a short walk from the railway and bus stations and there is ample parking nearby. There is a charge of £2.00 to cover meeting costs and light refreshments are available at the Institute. Visitors and prospective new members are invited to attend.
