As mentioned on our kit-built DMUs page, Southern Pride kits use clear plastic sides with the livery ready painted on. Whilst this reduces the amount of painting and produces a very flush glazed finish it does mean that separately applied detail, such as door handles and grab rails, have to be fixed and then the whole kit assembled without marking the sides. So beware letting the drill slip or marking with solvent-laden finger prints. It can be done though ..... it also was professionally built by the late Phil Busch of Uckfield! |
