Heljan completes the Crompton set with new 33/1 and 33/2 models |

Heljan have now released their much-awaited 33/1 and 33/2 models. Above is a photograph of three different 33s in blue, left to right 33/0, 33/1 and 33/2. The original 33/0 models did not find favour with some modellers due to the roof profile being incorrect, however this has been corrected on newly released 33/1 and 33/2 models. This is similar to the previous R2307A/B Connex liveried model (click here for details) but with,as with the real size units, Southeastern branding replacing the Connex branding. This new model has a Hornby product code of R2306 and is of unit 466 023. The production run was for 1000 models and the over the counter price is £74.99. |

| Electra Railway Graphics goes into the clear! | |
![]() |
Electra Railway Graphics has long been producing a range of transfer overlays to permit multiple units to be converted from existing RTR stock, principally for 2mm scale. However, the chief criticism of these products is the lack of clear windows which may, or may not, be a significant problem to modellers working in 2mm scale. The good news is that ERG have now solved this and are now producing their "Electra Plus" range with clear windows. These feature a two stage system consisting of a white backing layer and a coloured top layer. The latter uses the same decal paper as the existing range which goes perfectly clear when varnished with acrylic. Modellers need to strip the Farish shell using Brasso or Superstrip before applying the first set of decals. |

Currently on the drawing board are improved 4 Cig and 4 Vep units, the North London Class 501 and EPB/HAP stock. The ERG 4 Sub project is progressing and will feature cast resin roofs/ends to the correct profile and Electra Plus decals. |
Scalefour Society launches first
accurate |
|
![]() |
The Scalefour Society is now producing accurate scale conductor rail supports made of etched brass and plastic to go with its scale correct section 150 lb/yard conductor rail. These supports can, according to construction, be used to represent outer third rail and lower centre 4th rail for London Underground tracks and low supports for Southern third rail. |
| Each packet will provide between 60-70 supports, depending upon type being modelled. This is equivalent to at least 2.3 metres of plain 3rd rail track. The cost of a pack is £4.50. End ramps, as nickel-silver castings, for Underground tracks are also available. These components are only available via mail order to Scalefour Society members, however non members can buy them at Scalefour Society exhibitions. The SEG Modelling Secretary did just this in September at Scaleforum 2006 and hopes to find the time to lay a test length of track to compare them to Peco Individulay conductor rail components. So photos to follow ....... eventually! | |
