St Denys layout expands to Bevois Park |
|
![]() |
Andrew and Simon Tucker
are well known in modelling circles for their excellence in modelling Southern Electric
stock in 2mm scale and their layout St Denys. That layout is now being expanded to
include Bevois Park and it had its first viewing, without scenery, at the Chippenham
exhibition over the August Bank Holiday. Andrew reports there were some electrical
problems but the outing proved the concept to be sound. photograph by Andrew Tucker |
Bachmann Unveil an OO Gauge 4 Cep Model |
![]() |
photograph courtesy of Bachmann Industries Europe During their annual dealers' open day at their Barwell, Leicestershire, headquarters 16/17th July Bachmann Industries Europe unveiled a pre-production model of an OO gauge model 4 Cep which will be part of their 2007 range. To mark the withdrawal of mainline operation of Mk1 EMUs Bachmann have fittingly chosen British Railway's first design of a mainline third rail unit. The model will be based on the CK and SK from Bachmann's highly acclaimed Mk1 coach range with new tooling for the DMSO. This model is being developed with the support of the Southern Electric Group and valued assistance of former Southern Region railwaymen who are keen to mark the withdrawal of the full size stock by seeing such a model produced . There is perceived to be a pent-up demand for a ready to run Southern EMU and we earnestly hope that you support this project by buying the models once they come into the shops. By doing so we will prove there is a market for such models and encourage further types to be produced. In short - when they become available in few years time we need to put our money where are mouths (letters and e mails) are! This group will bring you more details when they are available to be made public. |
