SOUTHERN'S SPEED RUN 2005

The run departs swiftly on time Through the station throat, Brighton bound

(above left) With the platform clock in the background (barely visible left - trust us, it shows in the full size photograph!) showing 11.02.01 and station staff checking their watches the 8 car formation pulls out of platform 10, and (above right) within the speed limit the units power away towards Brighton.

(below left)The passenger information screens, both inside and outside of the units, were clearly displaying the significance of this working, and (below right) it was a very enjoyable fun run, as witnessed by the passengers in the rear DMCO of the leading unit 377472  who upon hearing the train was running at 100mph feigned being on a theme park thrill ride!
