1497 at Brockenhurst awaiting shunting from
platform 2 to platform 4. The raised aluminium double arrow situated below the grab
rail is not authentic for a blue & grey liveried Cig! The double arrows were white
transfers and situated in the blue area below the cab window. The black cab top is

1498, already carrying the "Lymington
Flyer" board ready for its first working at the head of the train to Lymington Pier.
Phase 2 Cigs never carried green livery, however SWT can be excused for this as we
are just grateful for the continued operation of both of these units. A small yellow
warning panel in the lower half of the corridor connection was worn on green phase 1 Cigs,
however this does not comply with the current regulation minimum of one square
metre. Originally the whole centre of the corridor connection was painted yellow
however this was subsequently modified to the whole width of the lower cab front. photograph by Colin Duff |

With 1498 and 1499 occupying the branch
line platform 4, 1499 (which has latterly been the "dedicated" unit on the
Lymington branch) pulled into platform 2 before handing over the service to the newer 3
