Wiltshire Warrior Railtour

 

1001 at Hastings prior to departure

On 21st March 2009 Hastings Diesels Limited ran another of their popular railtours from Hastings to Salisbury via Tonbridge, Redhill, Guildford, Fareham, Eastleigh and Romsey using 1001 in a 5 car formation.

1001 is about to leave third rail territory - not that it needs the "juice" - until Shawford Junction after passing through Reigate.

Three generations of multiple unit on adjacent platforms, diesel electric 1001 and diesel hydraulic 165111 sandwiching an electric 450088, at Guildford. The railtour reversed here to go down the Porstmouth Direct Line.
