The train ran either to time or slightly ahead throughout. However, the train was then delayed in East Grinstead station for about half an hour having first been routed by Oxted Signalbox into the platform intended for the service train and having difficulty uncoupling the unit from the EDL.

Marquees on the Bluebell Station site

Whilst the unit had been travelling down from Wimbledon, the site of the Bluebell Railway's future station was open to the public for a small admission fee. Displays/stalls, in addition to the Bluebell Railway, were from the EMU Preservation Society, the NSE Railway Society and this group.
