| 9th December 2004 "4 Cor" Motor Coach restoration progress Southern Electric Group members have made considerable progress during the last few months with restoration of "4 Cor" motor coach 11201, which is to be displayed at Horsted Keynes on the Bluebell Railway. The bodysides and driving end have been repainted in Southern Railway Olive Green, lettered and lined out and Unit numbers applied. The underframe and equipment boxes have been cleaned and blacked. The roof has been made watertight and treated with grey sealant. Inside the coach, bodyside panels in the large saloon have been repaired or replaced. The coupé is complete. In the small saloon, one seating bay has been restored and all seats and panels have been replaced. Other seating bays have been arranged to show the construction of the vehicle and different stages of restoration. The ceilings in the restored bay and large saloon have been restored. Lighting has been made operational from a transformer installed in the battery box. All glazing has been repaired and ventilators made operational. The coach is expected to move to Horsted Keynes in early 2005. It will be open to the public on most Bluebell operating days, to allow visitors to see inside, including the driver's cab. Displays explaining the history and technical significance of the Southern Electric system will be included.
