| 31st October 2004 SOUTHERN ELECTRIC GROUP MAGAZINE MILESTONE The Southern Electric Group members' journal Live Rail has reached a very significant milestone on publication of the 200th edition this month. "Live Rail" first appeared in October 1970 and has appeared bi-monthly since January 1973. Live Rail looks at aspects of the Southern's operations, past, present and future. The magazine is widely respected for its historical articles and regular reports which record the present-day Southern Electric railway scene. Copies of Live Rail are issued automatically to all Southern Electric Group members and are also on sale from a limited number of retail outlets. Work is now at an advanced stage in the preparation of "4Cor" motor coach No. 11201 to be put on display at Horsted Keynes. We are grateful to the Trustees of the Bluebell Railway for permitting this opportunity to allow visitors to see inside this coach, including the driver's cab, as no "4Cor" vehicle has been on public view in the "Southern" area for almost 20 years! The coach will be open to the public on most Bluebell operating days. Displays explaining the history and technical significance of the Southern Electric system will be included. We welcome volunteers to help us prepare motor coach 11201 ready for display, and as stewards on board the vehicle at Horsted Keynes. All assistance, including donations, will be very welcome. Please help in any way you can.
