Electro-Diesel 73141

Electro-Diesel 73141 Named Again!

You may remember in February 2009 we reported unit 73141 being named twice at Brighton. However, since then the unit has been transferred to First GBRf, and was officially named "Charlotte" on 11th July 2009 at Minehead. As with several other First GBRf Class 73's, it was named after a female worker of First GBRf.

You may have noticed the large unit number. It is said to be a mistake which was too late to be rectified for the naming ceremony, so we may see it change in the future.

Network Rail's Electro-Diesel 73141 was named - twice - at Brighton Station on Friday 20th February 2009, with one side named "Ron Westwood" and the other "David Gay". The nameplates were fitted at St. Leonard's Depot on 18th February and 73141 travelled from Tonbridge West Yard to Brighton on the day in the company of 73107, reversing at Redhill.
