First Capital Connect News

 

377505 and 377201 depart Swanley on 20th April 2009

377504 and 377201 depart Swanley with the 16:22 Bedford - Gillingham service on 20th April 2009. and still no First Capital Connect external branding!

377/5s Finally Enter Service
377501 passing through Blackfriars on 23rd March 2009 whilst on test

...well in the case of this first picture, not quite! On the first day of the new Thameslink timetable, Monday 23rd March, 377501 was out on test and is seen here passing north through Blackfriars at lunchtime.

377501 and 377208 between Blackfriars and London Bridge on 24th March 2009

The Class 377/5 finally entered service the next day and on its first passenger working 377501 is pictured here with 377208 between Blackfriars and London Bridge with the 06:00 Bedford to Brighton.

377501 traileing 377504 through Three Bridges on 30th March 2009

377501 again on 30th March at Three Bridges with the 07:24 Brighton to Bedford service. However, note this is an eight car formation in First Capital Connect blue and this is significant. Leading is 377504 on its second ever passenger working. 377504 entered service on the earlier part of this diagram, the 04:20 Bedford to Brighton.

375903 and 377504 at tonbridge on 1st April 2009

Hello older cousin, you look all white!

 

377s, mostly sub-leased Southern 377/2s, are currently working the joint Southeastern / First Capital Connect services. Here, on April 1st, 377504 is on the other side of the through lines at Tonbridge from 375903.

377504 and 377206 at Tonbridge on 1st April 2009

On 1st April the 16:46 Bedford - Ashford worked by 377206 + 377504 got into trouble at Nunhead when 377206 lost its shoegear. They first ran ECS to Tonbridge before being moved to Chart Leacon to try and repair/replace some of the pickup shoes. They are pictured here in Tonbridge station. 377206 worked to Selhurst the following day via Redhill, 377504 working its diagram from Ashford.
