Although the doors open automatically there is also an illuminated button. It will be interesting to see how often these doors open un-necessarily when the train is well loaded and passengers are standing adjacent to these doors.

Each door opening is well lit at a low level when open by a high intensity white LED lamp.

Unlike outer-suburban and long distance Electrostars this inner suburban version has sliding doors in a wider opening.

Most modern electric units are of modular design which includes a range of traction packages. So there is a pantograph well in case the unit is ever converted to AC overhead pickup or dual voltage/pickup working.
