Hornby 2024 new products
The long and short of it is that the nearest thing to a new Southern Electric model in their 2024 range is re-released resin models of the original Hornby (more accurately Rovex) factory and office block situated in Margate! These are part of Hornby’s (more accurately Rovex’s) current 70th anniversary celebrations.

The two revised 4Vep models from their 2022 range have still to be released.
According to the February edition of Railway Modeller, at the trade launch of Hornby’s 2024 range they were told 2024 is a year of consolidation. Bachmann had one of these a few years back when their production schedule got seriously behind. 122 items from previous years’ launches have still to appear so the number of 2024 announced products is commensurately fewer. However, there will be a few interim announcements throughout the coming year, including one newly tooled locomotive. It is not stated if this is a newly tooled version of an existing model or a model of a locomotive type not previously produced by Hornby .
