Eastleigh Model Rail – new range of 4mm scale EMU kits
New venture Eastleigh Model Rail, in collaboration with C W Railways, have launched a new range of 3D printed Southern EMU kits. They are offering high resolution 3D printed kits of Southern Railway and BR Southern Region prototypes that are not covered by the major manufacturers. The printed parts are manufactured with an accuracy of 16 microns – 7/10ths of one thousandth of an inch – using a plastic material that produces an exceptionally smooth surface with fine but robust detail.
Eastleigh Model Rail‘s initial range includes 4mm scale 3D printed kits of post-war all-steel 4 Sub (2 versions) and 2 Hal units (also 2 versions) as well as a comprehensive range of bogies, underframes, bodies and interiors. The kits include all the 3D printed parts needed to build a complete (unpowered) 4-car or 2-car unit – bogies, underframes, ends, sides, roofs and interiors with provision for your choice of motorisation options. To follow soon will be a 2 Wim.
EMR also intend to produce kits of the 4 EPB, 2 Hap and 2 EPB units built to the same Bulleid/Lynes design on the Eastleigh production line that ran from 1946 to 1959.
