ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2025
The 55th Annual General Meeting of the Southern Electric Group will take place on Saturday 31st May 2025. The venue is The Model Railway Club, Keen House, 4 Calshot Street, London N1 9DA. This is near to the Kings Cross / St. Pancras stations complex so is readily accessible from all of the Southern Region area via Thameslink or other routes. As usual the meeting will commence at 14.00 and we end by 17.00 following completion of all business.
Please be advised that at this venue the meeting room is on the first floor and toilets are on the second floor; access is by stairs only. Your Committee is aware that this might present difficulty to a very small number of members however locating a suitable and affordable venue in central London with full step-free access is extremely challenging.
It is proposed to again offer the option to join the meeting via Zoom as per recent AGMs.

David Morton, our web administrator, will be standing down at this meeting. We therefore urgently require a member (or someone willing to become a member) to take over the reins and work alongside David to achieve a smooth handover. If no candidate is forthcoming there is a real risk that the web site may have to be closed which will also close our online shop, membership renewals and deny access to a large amount of information there. No shop and no membership means no income for the Group.
We currently operate two websites, one uses WordPress and the other is our old website which contains a lot of technical information and can be accessed from our current WordPress site.
Our current site is used to attract new members and to allow members to renew their subscriptions. It is used by our shop, we use Woocommerce to complete the sales. It also has a lot of modelling articles. It is getting very slow to use. We are looking for someone who can come up with new ideas as to how we can update it and with the skill to join the two sites together into one site. The website is our shop window and is critical to the Group’s survival in the longer term.
Originally the website featured the latest news from the Southern Electric system, but Facebook and X have taken over this role.
