Heart Of Wessex train to be available as RTR in 4mm scale from TMC

Although strictly not Southern Electric rolling stock this colourful diesel hauled train once ran on a short section of (relatively latter-day) Southern Electric track between Dorchester South and Weymouth on Bristol – Weymouth services on Summer Saturdays from 2002 for a few years. This was the result of a shortage of DMUs within the then Wessex Trains TOC. Up until now the only way of modelling this train was by repainting and using vinyl overlays from Electra Rail Graphics. TMC have commissioned the Class 31 loco and four Mk2F coaches from Bachmann and are selling them as exclusive items. Both loco and coaches will be available as DC or with DCC. There is also a special offer if the Wessex Livery class 31 loco is ordered (or has been ordered in the past) with another of their exclusives – Fragonset livery 31452 Minotaur – as the coaches were run on this service “topped and tailed” by both of these locos.
